Five Most Effective Teeth Whitening Options

These days getting your teeth whitened has become really popular, if you want a bright and nice smile getting your teeth whitened would seem to be the only option. Not only does it allow you to have a good and bright smile but it is also good for your confidence.

Teeth Whitening StripIf for instance you would like to get your teeth whitened it is imperative that you discuss it with a professional first, not only would he be able to tell you the appropriate option for you but would also be able to advise on whether your gums and teeth are strong enough for the whitening process.

Teeth Whitening Methods

• In-Office Bleaching – This procedure would offer you with excellent results. It is carried out in the dentist’s office and is bound to give you a good result. Even though this procedure if expensive, the amount of time you save and the long term results it offers make this method quite appealing.

• Teeth Whitening Trays and Gels – This procedure is effective but it may take a longer amount of time when compared with the method discussed above. These trays can be worn for two to three hours in day or even overnight and takes usually three days to a week before any outcome become prominent. Trays that can be used to whiten the teeth are of two types: those that you can purchase OTC and those that you purchase from your dentist. They both are capable of whitening your teeth but generally have a noticeable difference.

• Teeth Whitening Strips – You would be able to find these all across the country in various drug stores. These strips are widely available and are user-friendly and usually produce good results. However using them would usually take a longer time depending on the concentration of peroxide present in them.

• Teeth Whitening Toothpastes – These contain serene abrasives which are helpful in removing the surface stains. Some of them might have extra polishing agents or chemicals which are more efficient in removing the stains then usual toothpastes, but however these toothpastes aren’t actually designed to “bleach” your teeth.

•  Other Teeth Whitening Products – You would be able to find different whitening products everyday such as whitening chewing gums, or dental floss and mouth washes. As not much study has been carried out because they are generally new approve or disapprove of their effectiveness. Quite a few people I know have tried these products but however even though they tasted really good, the results were not as good as expected.

If however you’re confused on what option would suit you the best, it’s ideal that you take advice from a professional.

I started using a very high sodium fouride content toothgel after a dentist's appt a couple of years ago...Although I only use it infrequently and or in conjunction with my regular el'cheapo toothpaste...it's had the added benefit of whitening my teeth as well...I'm getting ready for a regular hygienists' cleaning and plan on using one of the peroxide whitening treatments afterwards, but the 1.1% flouride toothgel is really a good way to go...regardless...just don't use it too often and within reason...ok...that's my 2cents worth...kindest regards, all...T~
